26 December 1978 – 26 December 2020; The Dream Continues
From track to the road – the technological experience gained on the competitions will be transferred on the Tacita T-Cruise and T-Race so that our racers can enjoy the speed, the reliability and the fun to ride experience as the first pioneers who left the Trocadero on December 26 1978 to follow Thierry Sabine, the visionary creator of the Dakar Rally.
Nicolas Chaix, Team manager of the Tacita Dakar Team: “After 10 years of hard work on rally bikes’ evolutions, it has become an evidence for me that the future has to deal with new energies. It was delightful to see TACITA and ASO join forces for this new adventure. Everything is now on the start line and the team is fully motivated and focused on our full electric 4-year program.”
Pierpaolo Rigo, co-founder of Tacita: “The prototype that competed in the Merzouga Rally in 2012 has become the T-Race Rally Pro that will race the Dakar Rally. Mission accomplished. The research Department, the engineering, the mechanics and the Italian design applied to give a green alternative to the toughest rally in the world in line with our core values. Passion, nature, respect, and emotions pump the heart of our team”.

We are working on the T-Race Rally Dakar 2020 that will be able to tackle the toughest rally in the world. We are delighted to have such a great opportunity. We were in 2012 the first electric motorcycle ever to race an African rally at the “Merzouga Rally”, and after these years of continuous research and development, we are ready for the Dakar. We invite all rally enthusiasts to visit us at the Jeddah Dakar Village, on every Bivouac or at the final Qiddiyah Grand Prix to come test our TACITA T-Race Rally 2020 and see our mobile solar-powered trailer, the TACITA T-Station”, Said Pierpaolo Rigo, TACITA co-founder.
“We are happy about the Rally Raid future, and we know that Alternative Energies will be part of it. The TACITA project and its full electric rally bike is a main development axis. And we are glad to welcome and promote this bike and this team at the start of our first Saudian Dakar in January 2020”, Said David Castera, Dakar Race Director.
